Released in 2016, Viozer was an experiment to find how much depth and complexity a one-button game could have.
People Not Profits
At Dread Citadel Productions, we believe that the unrelenting pursuit of profits makes games worse in many respects.
We pledge to operate as a non-profit company, never to pay dividends to shareholders.
Any financial success we get will be used to reduce costs to players and improve the working conditions of our most valuable assets: our people.
Ethical Treatment of Players
We believe the predatory monetization practices that are the norm in the games industry are unethical and cause real harm to vulnerable players.
We pledge to design our monetization methods to minimise harm and pledge to constantly review them to reduce or limit cost to players as much as we can, while still maintaining enough revenue to meet our operating costs and provide job security to our staff.
Games are an Art Form
At Dread Citadel Productions we firmly believe that video games are an art form and should be treated with the same respect as music, film, art and writing.
After all, video games contain them all.
At Dread Citadel Productions, we want to explore the potential of video games as an art form and pledge to innovate and expand the definition of what video games can be with all of our projects.
